EYEBROW TATTOO HEALING PROCESS

Tired of pencilling your eyebrows every day?

Unlike a traditional tattoo, the end result of permanent makeup produces soft, subtle, muted edges which is ideal for eyebrow tattoo, giving a totally natural look. The brow is designed and measured in alignment with the bone structure of your face, to ensure the perfectly shaped eyebrow to add balance and symmetry to best frame your face.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE HEALING PROCESS

Day 1-2: What you will see is about 20-40% darker, bolder and more solid than what your healed result will present. Under the pigment, the skin is red and colour pigment has been deposited into the layer of skin which contains dead skin cells, minimal amounts of blood … this combination gives your new eyebrow tattoo a darker colour.

There may be minimal swelling, but because typically the eyebrow area does not retain much fluid, this is usually limited.

The top layers of skin will begin to shed on about day 3-5 and you will see some loss of colour. This is normal, and the pigment that was deposited superficially will come off with the dead skin cells.

Do not help it peel. Let it peel off on its own. To pull the skin off at this point, you will remove ‘plugs’ of dermal pigments that have not yet detached themselves completely from the skin.

Day 3: Your eyebrows may begin to itch and the pigment may appear somewhat raised. Do not scratch them; apply your prescribed healing, calming, and antiseptic cream, sparingly.

Day 4-6: The skin in now in the throes of rapid exfoliation and if left alone the skin will shed evenly. The colour under the exfoliating skin will continue to appear lighter until the epidermis takes on its more transparent characteristics. Over the next couple of weeks it will continue to heal.

Day 30-40: Now it is time to critique your new eyebrow tattoo as you have had a full cycle of cellular regeneration in which the tattoo has now become part of the dermis, seen under the epidermis.

Time to make your appointment with your cosmetic tattoo specialist for any adjustments that may be necessary.
